The rules for using ALPHA, in plain language.
Draft — pending legal review
This document describes how ALPHA works today. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and may change before ALPHA is generally available.
About these terms
These terms are between you and Immersive Digital Solutions, which publishes ALPHA. By installing or using ALPHA you agree to them. If you use ALPHA through your organisation, your organisation’s agreement with us also applies.
What ALPHA is
ALPHA is a desktop assistant for Windows that understands spoken or typed requests, proposes a plan, and carries out a defined set of actions on your PC once you approve them. ALPHA is in early access, and its features will change. Features described as “coming soon” are not available yet.
Your account
- You need an account to sign in, and you must keep your sign-in details secure.
- Actions in ALPHA are recorded against your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
- Your organisation’s administrators may manage your access and see activity and AI request records, as described in the privacy notice.
You stay in charge
- ALPHA uses AI to understand requests and plan steps. AI can misunderstand or make mistakes. Read each plan before you approve it.
- Steps that change something on your PC need your approval, and you are responsible for the steps you approve and for checking the results before you rely on them.
- Do not rely on ALPHA for safety-critical decisions or engineering sign-off. Those need a qualified person.
Acceptable use
Do not use ALPHA to:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- access accounts, systems or data you are not authorised to use;
- try to bypass ALPHA’s approvals, limits or security, or reverse engineer its cloud service;
- overload or disrupt the service.
Your content
Your instructions and documents remain yours. You let us process them only to provide ALPHA to you, as described in the privacy notice.
Our software
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use ALPHA on Windows PCs you are allowed to use, for as long as you have access. ALPHA, its design and its cloud service belong to us or our licensors. Some parts of ALPHA are open source software under their own licences.
Other companies’ services
ALPHA relies on Google Cloud and OpenAI to run, and works with applications from other companies, such as Microsoft Windows apps. We are not responsible for those companies’ products.
Availability and changes
We work to keep ALPHA available but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or stop features, and we may suspend access that breaks these terms. We will tell you about important changes to these terms.
Responsibility
ALPHA is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. [Warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability to be provided by legal counsel.]
Law
[Governing law and courts to be confirmed.]
