How ALPHA handles your information, written to match how the product actually works today.
Draft — pending legal review
This document describes how ALPHA works today. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and may change before ALPHA is generally available.
Who we are
ALPHA is published by Immersive Digital Solutions (“we”, “us”), the team behind aikaruvi. This notice covers the ALPHA desktop app for Windows, the ALPHA cloud service it connects to, and this website.
The short version
- Your voice is turned into text on your PC. Audio recordings are not uploaded and not kept.
- The text of your instructions is sent to ALPHA’s cloud service and to OpenAI so that ALPHA can plan what to do.
- ALPHA’s spoken replies are generated by OpenAI from the text of the reply, through ALPHA’s cloud service.
- Folder listings stay on your PC and are never sent to the cloud.
- We do not sell your information, show you ads or use trackers.
What ALPHA processes, and where
| Information | Where it is processed |
|---|---|
| Microphone audio | On your PC only. Speech recognition runs locally; the audio is discarded after it has been turned into text. |
| Your instructions (typed, or the text recognised from your speech) | ALPHA’s cloud service (Google Cloud, asia-south1, Mumbai) and OpenAI, to plan the steps. |
| Recent conversation (your last few exchanges with ALPHA) | ALPHA’s cloud service and OpenAI, so ALPHA can follow the conversation. Kept for a short time only (currently up to two hours). |
| Text of ALPHA’s spoken replies | Sent from ALPHA’s cloud service to OpenAI to produce the voice. If that voice is unavailable, ALPHA uses a voice on your PC. |
| Text ALPHA types for you (for example, a note in Notepad) | Part of the plan, so it passes through ALPHA’s cloud service and OpenAI. When ALPHA checks what it typed, only a fingerprint of the result is reported back, not the text. |
| Folder listings | On your PC only. They are shown on your screen and never sent to the cloud. |
| Account details (email address, organisation, sign-in provider) | Google Identity Platform for sign-in, and ALPHA’s cloud service. |
| Activity records (what was requested, approved and done, by whom and when) | ALPHA’s cloud service. These records use identifiers and fingerprints rather than the content of your instructions. |
| AI request records (which AI service was called, timing, outcome, usage) | ALPHA’s cloud service, visible to your organisation’s administrators. See below for content. |
AI request records and your organisation’s administrators
ALPHA keeps a record of each request it makes to an AI service, so your organisation’s administrators can see what was asked and why ALPHA acted as it did. Only administrator and support roles in your organisation can see these records, and every time someone views or exports one, that is itself recorded.
The records always include details such as time, outcome and usage. They include the actual content of requests and replies only if your organisation’s administrator turns that on. When content is kept, passwords, keys and similar secrets are removed first, and the content is deleted automatically after 7 days by default.
What stays on your PC
- Microphone audio and the speech recognition itself.
- Folder listings.
- Your sign-in tokens, kept in the Windows credential store.
On first launch, ALPHA downloads its voice models (about 500 MB). That download does not send any of your information.
Service providers
We use these providers to run ALPHA:
- Google Cloud (including Google Identity Platform): hosting of ALPHA’s cloud service in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region, and sign-in.
- OpenAI: planning your requests and producing ALPHA’s spoken replies. OpenAI may process this information outside India.
We will update this list before adding a provider that processes your information.
How long we keep information
- Audio: not kept. It never leaves your PC.
- Recent conversation: a short time only (currently up to two hours).
- AI request content, when your organisation turns it on: 7 days by default.
- Account and activity records: for as long as your organisation uses ALPHA, and then deleted. [Retention period to be confirmed.]
Logs
ALPHA’s operational logs are designed to carry identifiers, timings and fingerprints, not the content of your instructions, audio or documents.

Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. If you use ALPHA through your organisation, your organisation’s administrator may handle some requests. You can use ALPHA by typing instead of speaking, and you can turn the microphone off in Windows settings at any time.
Changes
We will update this notice when ALPHA changes how it handles information, and change the date at the top.
